Förberedelserna lovar gott då Raivo inte direkt ligger på latsidan

Hi, Rehns Bk team mates!

Let me introduce You about my trainings, studys, daily routine and plans about upcomming season. It is really cold and snowy winterhere in Latvia like in all Europa. In last few days temperature every morning is close to -30C. However, It doesn’t change anything in my daily life.

This year I am going to graduate Ogre State Gymnasium than I am going to study in autumn. I am not clearly decided where to study, because it depends on my marks in exams. So I must study hard at the moment, but it doen’t impress my training plan. It is always enought time for trainings.

My winter trainings are a little bit different and harder than ever before. Unlike last few years when I was participateing and skiing a lot in ski-orienteering, this year I am not doing like that. I am preparing for summer season more this year and it means allmost my trainings are running and classic skiing. This winter I also prefer running some speed trainings and uphill intervals too which I didn’t do before. Althought my physical preparing could be well done, there is one big minus like in all years before, there are no orienteering trainings because of snow and good known boring terrain around. So my training week looks like this:

Monday: easy running about 40min.

Tuesday: easy running in the moring, short indoor intervals and some strenght, jumping exercises in the evening.

Wendnesday: easy running in the morning, long run or skiing in the evening.

Thursday: easy running in the morning, longer uphill or indoor intervlas in the evening, some jumping exercises too.

Friday: easy running or skiing less than 1h.

Saturday: uphill intervals in first train and low intensity skiing in second train.

Sunday: indoor running with some speeds or long run in outside in first train and low intensity skiing in the second train.

My goals for upcoming season are JWOC, JEC, BC, O-ringen, SM, LC and ofcourse I hope to be in first team in Tiomila, Jukola and I really hope to do the best in these relays.

I wish for all Rehns bk runners great season with a lot of victories in the most important races in upcoming sason! I wish everyone to complete his goals!

Best Regards!
Raivo Kivlenieks
